Sooooo...what are you kids up to now? I just bought my cloth bags online...recycled cotton! Your posts inspired me. I also was inspired by Casdok's post on plastic bags.
We are a little family of four. We are very close and spend a lot of time together. We home school or unschool or whatever you want to call it, but our approach to learning hardly resembles the traditional idea of school. We pursue learning and understanding through all of our daily activities. During the years I spent teaching in a public school, this type of learning was known (in the educational lexicon) as those "rare teachable moments". Fortunately, in life those moments aren't very rare at all.
This blog was created for two purposes. First, to serve as a landing place for us to record our efforts as we strive to be more aware of our place on the planet and as we try to help better care for our mother earth and all her living creatures.
Second, aside from the goals of the project itself, we see it as a terrific learning opportunity as our children will be the authors, editors and idea generators of most of the posts. We also see the opportunity to study in depth scientifically, artistically, mathematically and so on some of the topics that will become a part of this larger project.
We hope you enjoy and would be grateful for any ideas you might have for our Flower Petals project.
